Create beautiful pink shell geodes using natural shells, clear resin, and colorful crystals for a calming craft experience.

Ingredients

  • Clean shell halves (scallop or conch)
  • Clear casting resin
  • Pink mica powder or powdered pigment
  • Small crystal chips or glass beads in pinks and neutrals
  • Fine glitter (optional)
  • Mixing cups and wooden stir sticks
  • Disposable gloves
  • Silicone mat or slow cure mat
  • Tweezers or toothpicks
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Respirator rated for organic vapors (if necessary)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your space and shells. Wipe each shell on both sides with isopropyl alcohol.
  2. Work on a level board and arrange shells on a silicone mat to catch drips.
  3. Sort your crystals and pigments by touch and tone.
  4. Mix a small batch of clear resin in a disposable cup.
  5. Tint a little resin with a soft pink mica.
  6. Pour a thin base layer into the shell.
  7. Place larger crystal pieces with tweezers into the still-wet base.
  8. Scatter smaller chips and glitter around focal stones.
  9. Add a few drops of clear resin over crystals.
  10. Remove any surface bubbles with a warm tool.
  11. Let the piece cure undisturbed for the recommended time.
  12. If desired, sand lightly and pour a thin topcoat.
  13. Wait for a full cure period before handling frequently.

Notes

Work slowly and enjoy the calming process of crafting. Store finished geodes properly and avoid direct sunlight to preserve color.
