Transform ordinary plastic bottles into vibrant flower suncatchers that bring light and color into your space.

Ingredients

  • Clean, empty plastic bottles (clear works best)
  • Scissors (safe and comfortable to use)
  • Permanent markers or acrylic paints
  • Paintbrushes (various sizes)
  • Optional: natural flowers or leaves for decoration
  • String or wire for hanging
  • A small bowl of warm water (for cleaning as you go)

Instructions

  1. Rinse your plastic bottles. Use warm water to clean the insides and remove any labels. Cut the bottle in half and set aside the bottom half for another project if desired.
  2. Draw flower shapes on the outer side of the bottle with a permanent marker or acrylic paint.
  3. Apply a layer of paint over natural flowers or leaves if you wish to use them.
  4. Cut out your flower designs using scissors, enjoying the finesse of the task.
  5. Fill in your flower shapes with colors of your choice, letting them dry between layers.
  6. Punch a hole at the top center of your suncatcher after everything has dried.
  7. Hang your suncatcher in a spot where it can catch sunlight and enjoy the view.
