Ingredients

  • Dried flowers (small blooms like pansies or violets)
  • Bioplastic (cornstarch-based)
  • A clean work surface
  • Cookie cutters (various shapes)
  • A small saucepan
  • Wax paper
  • A spatula or spoon
  • A rolling pin

Instructions

  1. Prepare your bioplastic by mixing cornstarch with water in a saucepan and heating it until thickened.
  2. Remove the bioplastic from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Roll out the bioplastic on a clean work surface using a rolling pin until 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Cut out heart shapes with cookie cutters and place them on wax paper.
  5. Arrange dried flowers on top of the heart shapes, gently pressing them in.
  6. Cover the flowers with a thin layer of bioplastic using a spatula.
  7. Seal the hearts by placing another sheet of wax paper on top and flattening gently with a rolling pin.
  8. Allow the hearts to dry completely for a few hours.

Notes

Store hearts in a cool, dry place. Clean them gently with mild soap and water as needed.
