Create a soothing Galaxy Sensory Bottle that calms the mind and provides a delightful sensory experience.

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic bottle or glass jar with a tight lid
  • Clear school glue or clear craft glue
  • Water (room temperature)
  • Baby oil or mineral oil (optional)
  • Liquid glycerin (optional)
  • Fine and chunky glitter in galaxy colors (blue, purple, silver, holographic)
  • Food coloring or liquid watercolor
  • Small funnel or paper folded into a funnel (optional)
  • Stirring stick or disposable spoon
  • Hot glue gun or silicone adhesive (optional)
  • Small toys, sequins, or star confetti (optional)
  • A towel or tray to catch drips

Instructions

  1. Clean and dry your bottle or jar thoroughly.
  2. Pour a little water and swirl it out to make sure the inside feels fresh and cool.
  3. Dry the exterior so labels do not slip while you work.
  4. Add clear glue to the bottle, squeezing it in about one third of the bottle capacity.
  5. Mix water with color and glycerin in a separate cup until soft and even.
  6. Pour the colored water into the bottle slowly using a funnel.
  7. Add glitter and small sequins for visual interest.
  8. If using oil, pour it gently on top of the water.
  9. Test the motion and make adjustments as needed.
  10. Seal the lid with hot glue or silicone adhesive.
  11. Clean the outside and label if desired.
  12. Sit with the bottle for a few minutes and watch the glitter fall.

Notes

Keep the lid sealed and avoid leaving the bottle in direct sunlight for long periods. If the glue or glycerin causes cloudiness, strain and refill the liquid.
