Create beautiful faux-glass crystals using Epsom salt and food coloring for a calming DIY experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups Epsom salt
  • Food coloring
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Silicone molds or shallow trays
  • String or fishing line (optional, for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace. Clear a flat surface where you can work comfortably and set out all materials.
  2. Mix warm water and Epsom salt. In a bowl, combine one cup of warm water with three cups of Epsom salt. Stir until fully dissolved.
  3. Add food coloring to your mixture. Adjust color intensity based on preference.
  4. Pour the mixture into molds or trays, creating varied shapes and thicknesses.
  5. Let it set for at least 24 hours to allow crystallization.
  6. Remove the crystals from molds. Use string or fishing line to hang them if desired.

Notes

Store crystals in a cool, dry place and consider reusing them for new projects.
