A simple and soothing project that allows you to create beautiful floral suncatchers to illuminate your space with colorful petals.

Ingredients

  • Fresh or dried flower petals (bright colors work best)
  • Clear contact paper or transparent adhesive sheets
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic paint (optional, for additional decoration)
  • String or ribbon for hanging (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by picking your flower petals, focusing on vibrant colors and interesting shapes. Feel their texture and notice their scent.
  2. Cut out a piece of contact paper that’s large enough for your design. Remove the backing carefully as it can be sticky.
  3. Lay the contact paper sticky side up on a flat surface. This will be your canvas.
  4. Arrange the flower petals on the sticky paper, creating patterns or designs that bring you joy.
  5. If desired, paint some of the petals with a thin layer of acrylic paint to enhance their colors.
  6. Once you are satisfied with your arrangement, carefully place another piece of contact paper over the top to seal the petals. Press down gently to eliminate any air bubbles.
  7. Trim the edges of the contact paper, leaving a small border for support.
  8. Use a punch or scissors to create a hole at the top if you wish to hang your suncatcher. Attach a string or ribbon for easy hanging.

Notes

Store flat in a cool, dry place when not on display. You can also switch out the petals with new seasonal flowers.
