Instructions

  1. Start by cleaning the bell shapes with a soft cloth to ensure they’re free of dust.
  2. In your heat-resistant container, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 2 cups of water.
  3. Slowly heat the mixture on low until the baking soda dissolves completely, stirring gently.
  4. If you choose to add food coloring, mix it in now, adjusting the shade to your preference.
  5. Carefully pour the solution into the bell shapes, filling them just below the rim.
  6. Leave the bells to sit undisturbed in a cool, dry place for about 1440 minutes (24 hours).
  7. Once the crystals have fully developed, gently remove the bells from the container and let them dry for an additional 60 minutes.
  8. Tie a string or ribbon at the top for hanging, creating a lovely display option.

Notes

Store bells in a soft, padded box to prevent scratches or breakage and consider washing and reusing them for future projects.
