Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 to 15 white coffee filters
  • Non-toxic liquid watercolors or food coloring
  • Small bowls or containers for dye
  • Spray bottle filled with water
  • Scissors
  • Pipe cleaners or floral wire
  • Baking sheet or large flat surface for drying

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing your workspace. Cover it with newspaper or an old cloth.
  2. Place your coffee filters flat on the surface.
  3. Fill small bowls with different colors of watercolors or food coloring.
  4. Using a spray bottle filled with water, lightly mist the coffee filters.
  5. Dip a brush into the chosen color and gently apply it to the filter.
  6. For more vibrant colors, layer different shades on top of one another.
  7. Once happy with the colors, carefully lift each filter and place them on a baking sheet to dry.
  8. Allow the filters to dry completely, either in a warm spot or using a hairdryer.
  9. When dry, fold the filters accordion-style, pinching them in the middle.
  10. Secure the middle with a pipe cleaner or floral wire, then gently fluff and shape the petals.

Notes

These flowers can be stored in an airtight container away from sunlight to maintain their vibrant colors.
