Transform broken crayons into enchanting glowing rainbow flowers through a simple DIY project, recycling old art supplies while engaging your creativity.

Ingredients

  • Broken crayons (any colors you enjoy)
  • Silicone flower molds (flexible molds work best)
  • Oven-safe container for melting
  • Baking sheet
  • Natural oil or cooking spray (optional, to help release the flowers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Set it to 250°F (about 120°C).
  2. Prepare the crayons: Remove paper wrappers as gently as possible.
  3. Break the crayons into pieces: Aim for smaller chunks about one inch in size.
  4. Fill the molds: Place the crayon pieces into each mold, mixing colors if desired.
  5. Melt the crayons: Place the filled molds on a baking sheet and put them in the preheated oven.
  6. Cool and remove: Once melted, remove the molds from the oven and let them sit until they are completely cool.
  7. Unmold: Once cool, gently release the flowers from the silicone molds.
  8. Display your flowers: Position them in a place where they catch the light.
