Ingredients

  • Bioplastic (easy to find online or at craft stores)
  • Food coloring (choose any pink shades you love)
  • A small pot for melting (safe to use on the stove)
  • A spatula or stirring stick
  • Cookie cutters or molds (to create shapes)
  • Wax paper (for easy removal)
  • Scissors (for shaping the suncatchers)
  • A non-stick spray or oil (optional, for easy removal)

Instructions

  1. Place the bioplastic in a small pot over low heat, stirring gently as it melts.
  2. Add a few drops of pink food coloring once melted, stirring until blended.
  3. Lay down a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface and spray with non-stick spray if desired.
  4. Pour the melted bioplastic onto the wax paper and spread it out into an even layer.
  5. Use cookie cutters or molds to press shapes into the warm bioplastic.
  6. Allow the suncatchers to cool and harden for about 30 to 60 minutes.
  7. Carefully remove the hardened shapes from the wax paper.
  8. Trim any rough edges with scissors for a polished look.
  9. Punch a small hole at the top of each shape and tie a piece of string or fishing line for hanging.
