Create beautiful and vibrant bioplastic suncatchers using natural ingredients in a mindful and creative process.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • Natural colorants (beet juice, turmeric, or spirulina)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Smoothing tool (spatula or hands)
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Measure 1 cup of cornstarch and place it into your mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually add 1 cup of water while gently stirring to blend into a smooth batter.
  3. Add a few drops of your chosen natural colorant and mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spreading it evenly.
  5. Use cookie cutters or your hands to create shapes in the mixture.
  6. Allow the suncatchers to dry in a warm, sunny spot for about 24 hours.
  7. Once dry, gently peel the suncatchers from the parchment paper.
  8. Find a window to hang your creations and enjoy the light they bring.

Notes

Store the suncatchers in a dry place, wrapped in a soft cloth. Avoid exposure to extreme moisture or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
