Create beautiful suncatchers using melted crayons, allowing light to dance through vibrant colors and infuse your space with warmth.

Ingredients

  • Crayons (green, or any colors you prefer)
  • Wax paper or parchment paper
  • An iron (for melting)
  • Scissors
  • A cookie sheet or suitable baking tray
  • An old towel or cloth (to protect surfaces)
  • String or ribbon (for hanging)
  • Optional: cookie cutter shapes

Instructions

  1. Collect your crayons and break them into smaller pieces.
  2. Preheat your iron to a low setting and lay a piece of wax paper on the surface.
  3. Scatter broken crayon pieces across one half of the paper.
  4. Fold the paper over the crayon pieces, creating a pocket.
  5. Carefully glide the iron across the top of the wax paper to melt the crayons.
  6. Lift the iron and gently unfold the paper to reveal your melted crayon creation.
  7. Trim excess paper around the edges with scissors.
  8. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes, if desired.
  9. Attach string or ribbon to the top for hanging.
  10. Hang your suncatcher in a sunny window and enjoy the light.
