Ingredients

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of corn syrup (optional)
  • A heat-resistant container (glass or ceramic)
  • A stirring stick or spoon
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • A small evergreen branch or twigs

Instructions

  1. Pour one cup of water into your heat-resistant container.
  2. Heat the water until warm and stir in one cup of baking soda slowly, watching it fizz.
  3. If using corn syrup, add half a cup now for larger crystals.
  4. Stir in food coloring if desired.
  5. Place the evergreen branch or twigs upright in the mixture.
  6. Set the container in a warm, undisturbed spot and let it sit for at least 24 hours.
  7. After 24 hours, check for crystals, gently remove the branch, and let it dry.
  8. Display your crystal tree in a sunny spot to enhance its beauty.

Notes

Store in a dry place and avoid direct sunlight to preserve its colors. You can disassemble and reuse materials for new projects.
